Money vision-Financial education video game

Problem

My realization

Hypothesis

Kids today are financially illiterate due to not getting the education they need. 70% could not answer

basic financial questions. 30% had some knowledge only because they searched online. Parents are

failing our kids and so is our education system.

Hypothesis

My realization

Hypothesis

A game that teaches kids budgeting and fiscal planning, investing and saving, taxes, and

risk management. Teach them to make intelligent financial decisions to obtain a secure base to grow from

so they may mature with financial stability moving into adulthood. A game that gives them a realistic idea

of what is financially possible, so they may envision a realistic plan that works for them

My realization

My realization

My realization

I  was Informed that Kids today do not know anything about finance!  Having a son who has recently graduated! I was shocked that nothing was taught to prepare him for his financial future!

Kids today are immersed in games like Fortnite, Roblox, and Minecraft. Providing a similar interactive platform makes sense to teach them the possible outcomes of financial decisions. This way, they can make informed financial choices rather than being unprepared.

Onboarding

When designing a game like this, consider adding the following:

  • Customization: Ensure every aspect of the game is highly customizable. Children love personalization, and it significantly enhances their engagement.
  • Onboarding Guide: Integrate a friendly and interactive onboarding guide to engage kids from the start and encourage their involvement.
  • Interactive Scenarios: Create real-life financial scenarios where kids can make decisions and see the outcomes of their choices. This will help them understand the impact of their financial decisions.
  • Rewards System: Implement a rewards system where kids earn virtual currency or points for completing tasks and making good financial decisions. This can motivate them to learn and apply financial concepts.
  • Educational Quizzes and Challenges: Include quizzes and challenges that test their knowledge and reinforce learning. These can be fun and interactive, keeping kids engaged.
  • Parental Involvement: Let parents track their child's progress and provide guidance. This can help reinforce lessons learned in the game.
  • Visual and Audio Feedback: Use engaging visuals and audio cues to provide feedback and celebrate achievements. This makes the learning process more enjoyable and memorable.
  • Storytelling: Incorporate a storyline or narrative that kids can follow. This can make the game more immersive and relatable.

Advantages of Game-Based Learning:

  • Immediate Knowledge Application: This provides kids with knowledge they can instantly apply in relevant scenarios.
  • Real-Life Reflections: This allows children to create and develop their own fictional characters, helping them relate to and reflect on real-life scenarios.
  • Critical Thinking: Stimulates kids to think critically, constructively, and creatively when faced with complex simulated scenarios.
  • Consistent Effort: Teaches the value of consistent effort and practice, reinforcing the importance of perseverance.
  • Understanding Complex Systems: This helps kids learn to read and understand complex systems, incorporating images, actions, symbols, and artifacts.
  • Enhanced Engagement: Makes learning enjoyable and interactive, increasing student engagement and motivation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Encourages kids to solve problems through trial and error, fostering resilience and adaptability.
  • Collaboration: Promotes teamwork and collaboration, as many educational games require players to work together to achieve common goals.
  • Safe Learning Environment: Provides a safe space for kids to explore and learn from their mistakes without real-world consequences.
